Yulia Gavrilov is the Scientific Director and Chief Statistician at TechnoSTAT Ltd., a small CRO based in Raanana, Israel. Yulia holds a Ph.D in Statistics from Tel-Aviv University in Israel, specializing in biostatistics, variable selection, multiple comparisons and data mining. She continued her research in the area of signal processing at Harvard’s School of Public Health in the Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology and Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, as a post-doctoral fellow. Yulia joined TechnoSTAT in 2010, serving since then as the company’s Chief Statistician, where she serves as a statistical consultant to dozens of pharmaceutical and medical device companies in Israel, Europe and the US.
In parallel to her role at TechnoSTAT, Yulia teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses in statistics at Tel-Aviv University. Her main domains of statistical expertise in clinical research are adaptive study designs, sample size estimation, artificial intelligence and statistical design of clinical studies. Yulia has experience in all phases of clinical development, including interactions with FDA and notified bodies in Europe. She has worked in a wide range of clinical indications including IVD, diagnostic devices, AI devices, cardiovascular, diabetes, oncology, neurology, ophthalmology, dermatology and more. In her spare time, Yulia enjoys reading books and playing piano.
